Alvin Dark and Ernie Banks each had an RBI in the 12th inning as the Cubs rallied to beat the struggling Pirates, who blew a 7-3 lead in the eighth inning. Pittsburgh has lost 18 of their last 24 games. A four-run eighth by the Cubs tied the game. The big blow was a three-run homer by Walt Moryn off Pirates reliever Roy Face. It was Moryn's second homer of the contest. He finished with five RBI. Bob Skinner had a three-run triple for Pittsburgh in the third inning, when the Pirates scored four times to take a 4-2 lead.


San Francisco 10, Cincinnati 7

John Antonelli won his league-leading 10th game as the Giants beat the Reds in a slugfest. A 10-2 Giants lead quickly got reduced to 10-7 as the Reds scored twice in the seventh inning and three times in the eighth. But Gordon Jones pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to nail down his seventh save. Willie Mays continued his torrid hitting with a 4-for-4 day, including two homers. Willie Kirkland added a three-run shot for the Giants, who continue to be the class of the league.


Milwaukee 4, Los Angeles 3 (13 innings)

Joe Adcock slugged a solo home run with two out in the bottom of the 13th inning as the Braves recaptured a game from the Dodgers that they nearly surrendered. Milwaukee jumped to a 3-0 lead after six innings but the Dodgers clawed their way back, tying the game in the ninth when Rip Repulski raced home from third base on a slow ground ball to shortstop by Don Zimmer. Warren Spahn pitched nine innings for the Braves, thus being credited with his league-leading ninth complete game. Eddie Mathews and Hank Aaron each hit solo homers for Milwaukee.
