More bad news for Bucs: Clemente out two months

Pittsburgh, May 24-- As if the Pittsburgh Pirates didn't have enough problems.

Losers of seven in a row, the Bucs announced that star right fielder Roberto Clemente will miss about two months with a strained throwing shoulder.

Clemente, who is hitting a team-best .348, said he hurt the shoulder while making a throw last week in St. Louis but played through the pain, which got progressively worse.

"Looks like a couple months," manager Danny Murtaugh said. "We're just going to have to soldier through it without Bob."

Roman Mejias was in right field for Pittsburgh Saturday, though Murtaugh wouldn't say whether Mejias would be the everyday right fielder in Clemente's absence.
