Wednesday, May 13- The San Francisco Giants maintained their hold on first place with a convincing 8-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies at Seals Stadium today.
The Giants (17-11) remain a half-game ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Sam Jones (5-2) fired a complete game, seven-hitter. The Giants scored all their runs by the fourth inning, jumping all over Phillies starter Ruben Gomez (1-3).
Leon Wagner, rarely used, had three hits and an RBI in a spot start in left field. Wagner had a double, two singles, a walk, and scored two runs.
Andre Rodgers hit his fourth home run, a two-run shot, to knock Gomez out of the game.
Ed Bouchee (.381) went 1-for-2 with two RBI for Philadelphia (12-16).
