Tuesday, May 12- The Milwaukee Braves banged out 16 hits and beat the Chicago Cubs, 8-3, handing the North Siders their sixth straight loss.
The Braves have won three straight.
Joe Adcock's pinch-hit, two-run homer gave the visiting Braves (13-12) a 7-3 lead in the seventh inning after Ernie Banks' solo homer in the sixth brought the Cubs (12-18) to within 5-3.
Walt Moryn and Dale Long hit back-to-back solo homers for Chicago in the second inning, staking the Cubs to an early 2-0 lead.
Lew Burdette pitched a complete-game nine-hitter for Milwaukee, which was notable for Burdette walking no one and striking out no one.
